Mini Workshop :: Knock it Off
This is the mini workshop version of our popular technique class!
That means you'll spend the day in our cozy workspace at Stitch with fellow sewists, enjoy lunch together, learn this specific style of pattern drafting, and leave with new skills and a finished pattern!
- Pre-requisite: you have made several garments using patterns, and are familiar with garment construction in general.
- Project: You will learn a specific technique for drafting a paper pattern based on a completed garment, without taking it apart. You may use your time to work on multiple patterns, or to focus on a single pattern to complete it, and begin your muslin.
- Materials:
- Drafting tools will be available for use in our workspace, but feel free to bring your own.
- Bring several garments (knits and/or wovens) that you would like to replicate, so you can learn copying techniques for multiple garment styles and garment elements.
- Muslin (test fabric similar to the original you are copying)
- Machine needles and thread, in case you have time to start sewing your test garment
- Prep-work: wash and press the garments you want to copy
- Skills learned: Drafting a pattern based on a completed garment, small adjustments to paper patterns for style and size.
The cost of this mini workshop includes lunch.

Cancellation Policy : Registrations are non-refundable; no refunds will be given. Any cancellations or changes to your registration must be done at least 72 hours prior to the class start date in order to be issued a class credit. Cancellations that are made less than 72 hours before the class start date and students who do not show up to class will forfeit their registration payment. By continuing with class registration, you acknowledge and agree to these terms.
