Decorative Pillows

Accessorize your home with your sewing skills! Make a decorative pillow with us in our one session class. 

• Pre-requisite: you have completed our Machine Sewing Primer, or have equivalent sewing experience. 
• Project: a decorative cover for your favorite throw pillow, featuring an envelope closure, and one of three decorative trims - a ruffle, knife pleats (as shown above), or a mitered flange.  
• Materials (for an 18" x 18" pillow):
  • pillow form
  • 5/8 yard of light to mid-weight woven fabric for the pillow cover
  • 5/8 yard of lightweight woven fabric for trim
  • PLEASE NOTE: you may need more fabric for a pillow that is bigger than 18" x 18", or one that is not square
  • matching thread (all-purpose, 100% polyester)
  • universal machine needles size 90/14
• Prep work: Please come to class with your trim fabric cut into 3" width-of-fabric strips
• Skills learned: basic pillow cover construction, creating gathered ruffles, knife pleats, or mitered corners.

Classes are for adults 18+

Cancellation Policy : Registrations are non-refundable; no refunds will be given. Any cancellations or changes to your registration must be done at least 72 hours prior to the class start date in order to be issued a class credit. Cancellations that are made less than 72 hours before the class start date and students who do not show up to class will forfeit their registration payment. By continuing with class registration, you acknowledge and agree to these terms.
