Garment Series :: The Pencil Skirt
Our Garment Series is all about making classic garments that build your sewing skills and your wardrobe at the same time!
- Pre-requisite: You have completed our Beginner Series, or have equivalent sewing experience.
- Project: You will choose from the following pencil skirt patterns:
- Alberta Street Skirt from Sew House Seven
- Garibaldi Skirt from Liesl & Co
- Ava Skirt from Sew Over It
- Materials needed:
- fabric and notions, as noted in the pattern
- machine needles appropriate for your fabric
- matching thread (100% polyester all-purpose)
- Swedish Tracing Paper
- Prep-work: pattern traced in your size, and fabric washed and dried
- Skills learned: skirt construction; sewing a waist band with facing; applying fusible interfacing; sewing slanted pockets; installing an invisible zipper, hemming.
This class will focus on construction. If you require fitting help, we recommend a private lesson before class begins.

Classes are for adults 18+
Cancellation Policy : Registrations are non-refundable; no refunds will be given. Any cancellations or changes to your registration must be done at least 72 hours prior to the class start date in order to be issued a class credit. Cancellations that are made less than 72 hours before the class start date and students who do not show up to class will forfeit their registration payment. By continuing with class registration, you acknowledge and agree to these terms.
