Tools & Techniques :: Fly Front
Learn the best way to insert a fly front into jeans, pants, and skirts!
- Pre-requisite: You have completed our Beginner Series, or have equivalent sewing experience.
- Materials needed:
- 1/2 yard of light to medium weight woven fabric. Fabric with an obvious right and wrong side is ideal; denim is not required.
- universal machine needles size 80/12
- thread (100% polyester all-purpose thread)
- 7" zipper
- 1/4 yard lightweight fusible interfacing (example: SF101, French Fuse, or fusible weft)
- Prep work: none
- Project: You will complete a sample fly front
- Skills learned: Cutting, prep, and construction for a fly front; applying interfacing; installing a zipper; how to adapt a zipper fly to a button fly and vice versa.
Classes are for adults 18+
Cancellation Policy : Registrations are non-refundable; no refunds will be given. Any cancellations or changes to your registration must be done at least 72 hours prior to the class start date in order to be issued a class credit. Cancellations that are made less than 72 hours before the class start date and students who do not show up to class will forfeit their registration payment. By continuing with class registration, you acknowledge and agree to these terms.
