Bodice Fitting Basics :: The Camber
Learn correct fitting and construction techniques for woven tops and dresses in this five session class.
- Pre-requisite: You have completed our Beginner Series, or have equivalent sewing experience
- Project: The Camber Set from Merchant & Mills (included with class)
- Materials needed:
- 2 yards of 50" wide muslin
- Swedish Tracing Paper
- fabric and notions for your completed Camber Top or Dress (not needed on the first day)
- dark thread for your muslin, matching thread for your final garment (100% polyester, all-purpose thread)
- universal machine sewing needles, size 80/12
- Skills learned: how to choose your size, how to complete a muslin; how to asses fit issues; how to transfer marks from a muslin to your paper pattern; bust adjustments, shoulder adjustments, moving or altering darts; set-in sleeves; seam and neckline finishing techniques, hemming.
This class starts with making a muslin (a test garment). Your instructor will help you asses and then correct the fit of your muslin. After adjusting your pattern based on that assessment, you will spend the rest of the class sessions completing your Camber Top or Dress.

Cancellation Policy : Any cancellations or changes to your registration must be done at least 72 hours prior to the class start date in order to be issued a class credit. Cancellations that are made less than 72 hours before the class start date and students who do not show up to class will forfeit their registration payment. No refunds will be given. By continuing with class registration, you acknowledge and agree to these terms.
