Tools & Techniques :: Bust Adjustments
This class is focused on techniques for adjusting the bust area of any pattern, in order to achieve a truly custom fit.
- Pre-requisite: Some experience sewing garments using patterns; a basic understanding of garment construction
- Project: Paper samples of several different flat pattern adjustments; there is no sewing in this class.
- Materials: All materials are provided in class.
- You may bring patterns, muslins, or garments to get bust fitting advice from your instructor, if class time permits
In this class, we will cover multiple bust related adjustments, including:
- full bust adjustment (FBA)
- small bust adjustment (SBA)
- moving and sizing a dart
- bust adjustment without a dart
- adding a dart to a dartless top
This class will focus on flat pattern adjustments using examples of bodice patterns. You will leave with your own samples of the adjustments that you make during class. There is no sewing during this class, but you may bring along patterns or muslins/garments to get bust-fitting advice from your instructor if there is any time remaining.

Classes are for adults 18+
Cancellation Policy : Any cancellations or changes to your registration must be done at least 72 hours prior to the class start date in order to be issued a class credit. Cancellations that are made less than 72 hours before the class start date and students who do not show up to class will forfeit their registration payment. No refunds will be given. By continuing with class registration, you acknowledge and agree to these terms.
